SEA OF LOVE – installation by Elizabeth Thallauer
The Lovers' Bridge - Blagoevgrad

"Sea of Love" is a temporary installation located in one of the key locations in Blagoevgrad - The Lovers' Bridge. The installation addresses the issue of giving new meaning to urban spaces and the transmission of positive messages through contemporary art. The goal of the project is to express the idea of love seen as communication. The author Elizabeth Thallauer, who lives and works in Germany, uses the existing bridge constructions and the choice of location and the used material has a direct relationship to the subject of love that can be seen from different points of view and we all go through it as we experience it in different ways.
The symbolic linking of the two sides of the bridge, by building a connection, raises issues related to the transitions of borders and the freedom of movement in space. Built in line with the urban space, the installation also corresponds to the landscape of the city, without interfering permanently with the surrounding environment.

The project is implemented by the Non-profit organization "So close, so far" under the "Culture" program of Blagoevgrad Municipality.
